TJ running below operating temp in winter

I just checked and it spins freely with the engine off. So I believe that means not locked up. Thank you.

TJ running below operating temp in winter

I don't believe it is locked up; it's not particularly loud. Is there a way to check with the engine off? I don't know how hard to hear it should be compared to my "cold" air intake and aftermarket exhaust on top of regular engine noise, but it doesn't seem loud. Thank you!

TJ running below operating temp in winter

Thanks, I just ordered a mopar one to see if it fixes the issue. Cant hurt when compared to the cheap $6 motorad thermostats I had tried to put in the car. Im just a little skepticall that both of the previous new thermostats weren't working properly. Maybe there is some weird heat transfer...

TJ running below operating temp in winter

If I am not mistaken, becuase I have a 2000 TJ 4.0 it still uses two seperate sensors like the YJ. My understanding is that the swtich to a single ECT sensor happened in 2001. What i'll do is double check in the engine bay this evening and look for the engine block side ECT sensor where it would...

    Unusual Transmission Fluid Leak

Update: The transmission was leaking from both the output shaft/transfercase input shaft, and the bell housing. I went ahead and replace all input and output seals, and the transmission pump seal/gasket. That resolved the issue entierly!

TJ running below operating temp in winter

Hey, I am a fairly new tj owner (1 month). When I bought my 2000 Tj Sahara, it came with no thermostat because the previous owners decied they didn't need it in texas. I installed a motorad 195F thermostat and thermostat housing with a new temp sensor (old one was siezed in the old housing)...

    Unusual Transmission Fluid Leak

Hey, so I was finnaly able to get my mother to check on it again. I still have about a month left before I can go see it myself. she turned it on and far less tranmission fluid came out this time, so I think it is that it is bleeding out of the breather vent. I also had her check the...

    Unusual Transmission Fluid Leak

Awesome that is super helpful, and I would have totally missed that. I do think I have a leak at the tcase/transmission interface but it is much less that at the transmission input. I should have the tools necesarry for the band adjustment, but if not I will make sure to get them! Thank you so much!

    Unusual Transmission Fluid Leak

Awesome, thank you! The previous owner mentions they think they might have topped up the transmission fluid just a little bit too much when prepping the car for me, so thats likley what popped the seal. I am going to ask my parents to not drive it until they can check the dipstick and see how...

    Unusual Transmission Fluid Leak

Hello, recenlty bought a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Sport (auto), but it has a leak which at first I though was a rear main seal leak, but at closer inspetion it seems to be a tranmission fluid leak. It seems to have another mild leak where you would expect between the transmission and transfer...
