Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

What did you do to your TJ today?

So I'm thinking I need new springs and or shocks now. The PO installed a Skyjacker lift and I think they are starting to show their age . Anyone have recommendations for a 2.5" lift kit or combination of parts?

I used OME 2933/2942 springs with Rancho 5000x shocks: 55239 front, 55241 rear. Uncompressed, they're 2" taller than the stock springs. Total ride height seems to have increased about 2.5" over the stock springs (with 170k miles).

I put a 1" Daystar spacer in front to level out the rake; rake is about 1/2" front/rear.

Forgot to add: I also needed a transfer case drop to eliminate driveline vibrations. SYE is the right answer long-term, but the drop kit was a whole lot cheaper. If we off-road a bunch, I'll go SYE.

Sold my front bumper today to a young Jeeper. Little less than I wanted, but I feel good about it.
Patiently awaiting my new MotoBilt stubby bumper! Bought it at 20% off. not bad. And new flat fender flares.
Everyone ready for these Black Friday sales? View attachment 205281

did you consider the mid length or did you want the stubby. I’ve been looking into ditching my obnoxious stinger and getting something more subtle.

Filled back up today. My trip yesterday only cost me 15 bucks in gas. LOL

Also sitting here waiting on my Sound Ordinance speaker I ordered a couple days ago. Hoping it gets here before hubby gets back home. LOL

Is that gas or moonshine? I saw that same setup on that Moonshiners TV show. The moonshine is higher octane. Also, you can lick up any spills.

Jeeps normally sit 1.5" higher in the rear with no added weight. I always lift the front of my Jeeps 3/4-1" higher because I never ride anyone in back...............or nobody wants to ride with me. I ran 28 psi when I had 32s. I like BDS or Pro Comp springs and Rancho RS5000X shocks.

Typically I'll have a 180-190lbs passenger in the back. He was not too thrilled with the spinout we had yesterday. Felt his eyes judging me the whole ride home😑

I've seen alot of people mention Rancho shocks, I'll have to keep an eye out for them and springs on black friday or cyber monday!

Thanks for the heads up on the SYE and drop kit, I'll have to do some research into that. I am getting a mild vibration from 40 to 60mph every now and then, I wonder if not having those with my current set up is causing that🤔

LOL, I wish, would make it so much easier to clean up if it spilled over. :D It's just gas unfortunately, but it is nice to have, I haven't bought gas for a couple of months, well except yesterday. Only put 15 bucks in, so 2 gallons basically. LOL

You're in a TJ, I hope I fixed your post correctly.
Yes. You're correct. I needed more :coffee:

I meant "how much" and "how challenging" - not the binary question if we'd go off road.

I've been ITCHING to try this Jeep out, but with snows coming and National Forests closed recently due to fire risk, options have been limited.

Why does Novak differ from Quadratec?
I have no clue. I've used the Novak chart several times and it's proven accurate for me. Of course not all 33" tires are 33". Depending on brand actual tire diameter can be almost an inch smaller and that can affect speedo accuracy by a small amount.

I'm going to put my eggs in the Novak basket because I found a 30 tooth gear cheap, and, if that doesn't work I'll be doing it all over again at a later date

I wanted the stubby. I’ll post some pics when it comes in. My old bumper was a little too much for me. I don’t do much wheeling so I didn’t need all the extras.
