My mother-in-law has TikTok, and while I refuse to participate in anything so juvenile (and run by the Chinese on top of that), my wife will sometimes send me these videos she’s posting.

I channeled my inner Chris Farley (think of the Patrick Swayze skit) and gave my wife a lap dance to this song at the lake around the firepit one night after drinking way to much. My friends still laugh about it. I threw my shirt into the fire and broke a camping chair, but there is no video somehow. For that I am thankful. I hear it got pretty awesome.

Well my wife and I agree that it's because she got married at 20, had her first kid (my wife) at 21, and then had 4 more kids without any space between them all.

She missed out on her youth, and ended up marrying her husband who turned out to be stage II bi-polar and a real nut job to say the least.

They've been separated for 3 years now and he's been living in his car on the streets for those past 3 years. He's full on Looney Toons, let me tell you.

I think my wife's issue (and I totally sympathize with her on this), is that most children don't want to have to see their mother doing stuff like this.

If it was private, then by all means, let your freak flag fly. But the fact that she shows her kids (my wife included) this stuff, that's the part that really mortifies my wife.

It’s a issue of boundaries. She’s trying to be a friend, not a mother. Most early moms end up like this, they don’t identify as a mom and don’t want to. They want to be a sexy 20 yr old that missed out on that time frame.

Funny you say that, same exact thing my mom said about this situation, "She's trying to be a friend, not a mother."

That's true too, and I also attribute it to the early mother thing. She missed out on her youth from having kids so early, so she doesn't identify as the mom, she wants her kids to look at her like she is cool, hip, modern, etc.

Of course when you're the kid in that situation, it's often times pretty disturbing when your parental figure doesn't want to be a parent but instead wants to be your friend.
