2006 LJR “Mongo”

Also, if it’s safe it’s to drive, enjoy it. Come up with a plan and execute. The biggest mistake I did with my first Jeep is I had no plan. I was like a kid in candy store, “Oh I want that, I want this, this too” with no direction.

Your rig has 35s in good shape, so build around what you have to limit the costs. And don’t worry, WE will spend your money quickly hahahahaha
Hahaha I’m all about it! I’m thinking the stimmy check from our fearless leader might stimulate the suspension on the LJ 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

So I have some more updates. It looks like the LCA mounts are welded AND bolted to the frame, and both drive shafts have CVs. It also looks like the front drive shaft may have previously smacked the header where it joins with the single exhaust...kinda looks half baked.

Don't be worried or upset with the set up it has. While not ideal, its not unfixable. This is when thinking positive and enjoying the process of building a Jeep comes in. Sure, its confusing at times and can be pricey but there's a ton of information on this forum alone that'll help you get it done. My suggestion, go back to stock mounts and do a Currie/Savvy 4" lift or go for the Savvy mid-arm.

Took Mongo to get smogged today (HOORAAAY CALIFORNIA IDIOTS) and the guys looked at the PO’s “custom” exhaust work and failed it. Of course the PO monkey just HAD to cut the one piece pre-cat pipe just before the third cat, and did an amazingly bad job welding the pipes back together. Any ideas as to where I can find a good replacement piece to repair this so I can pass smog and register it? It’s the piece with 2 catalysts immediately following the headers, and the third is downstream before the muffler.

Found this on the other wrangler forum...https://www.wranglerforum.com/threads/savvy-currie-rockjock-control-arm-set-for-tj-now-1050.2396827/#post-34800464
Any thoughts? It looks pretty beat and the fact that parts are missing is kind of concerning.

Over price, by a lot. I wouldn't pay more than $700 for that. New arms are $1200 before discount.

I found a guy selling an OEM cat from an 05 LJ that had frame damage! Bought it for $300 bucks on Friday and took the old garbage out when I got home. Put the new cats on yesterday morning and have been running the drive cycle on an off. It’s just straight cats with no muffler now and it’s LOUD and sounds meaner than I thought. I just wish I could hear myself think because I dig the sound. I also took the time to put in a Kenwood Excelon KMH-X704 head unit so I can finally have hands free calling and Bluetooth! Also, don’t mind my southern engineered exhaust hanger...the monkeys before me cut the mount off of the trans mount so I had to improv.
