I'd like your folks opinion on this. TJ Rubicon.

Something that can get XM Radio and has Android Auto, and can look good and not like you super-glued some ridiculous thing on it.

If you offroad or drive on bumpy roads it wouldn't take long to wish you hadn't gone with a touch screen. Knobs and buttons are my preference for a Jeep. I'm definitely not against touch screens, I'd love one for my wife's boulevard cruiser Lexus.

This is one of the next things I am looking at doing. Does installing these require me to do any modifications inside the dash, or do I just need a new bezel?

The one I linked to requires minimal cutting.

Here’s one with a volume knob. Both my truck and Jeep have touchscreen with volume knob. My car is touch only. Can’t stand pushing a button to increase or decrease volume.

I have that same one - it was inexpensive, easy to install, and I’m a volume knob proponent. . My only complaint is that it doesn’t do well with glare, but my audio system is well down on the list of my TJ preferences so I don’t really care. I almost always have it off when I’m wheeling anyway.

Anyone heard of this company? Some of the stuff seems really neat but not sure it's worth $1K.

Looking at this radio from them. I want to put my maps and stuff all into one unit instead of having 3-4 different items I have to worry about.

I know they make one that is for the 2003-06 TJ's but I'd like to have the larger sceen.

Buy an iPad mini for your maps, cheaper and better. Plus you can surf the forum on it.

I really DISLIKE anything APPLE plus like I said I was trying to get everything into a single unit.
All the apps I have looked at when using Android Auto you can't mirror the maps to your radio. Something about the way it works. Were as with Apple you can.....:( So I might have to get over my dislike.

You can buy an Android tablet too.

Yes but again as I said I'd like to keep things to as few items as I can. So a nice radio like the Alpine
iLX-W650 I could connect to it with a Apple product and then everything is handled in the radio.

If seen the Insane Audio on one of those truck/car shows a while back. Other than that, wow they are expensive. How can they charge double for an unknown company?
