I love my jeep and I’m taking good care of her. But, though financially I got what I needed, god damnit I wanted Yellow so bad. It’ll be impossible to trade, to want another one when you know the car so well, or not seeing myself getting rid of mine. Maybe in the future I’ll go for a yellow one with the 4.0 to justify it.

Just being a little sad is all. Did you guys get the color you truly wanted?

I knew next to nothing about TJ's, other than I wanted a 4.0L, 5 speed, hard top, and AC. I lucked out when what I purchased had a rear Dana 44 with disc brakes.

I wanted the '05 orange Rubicon. But there was none available. It was September, it was getting slim on inventory in So. Cal. So I bought a black Rubicon, my second choice. I'm happy :)

If your happy with it mechanically, that to me personally is most important.
You can play around with wheels and other aesthetics to change it up a bit maybe? Yellow is kick ass though, just saying 😉

I looked and looked for a dark green Rubicon. Could not find one. I bought black and I eventually ended up liking black quite a bit.

I would have preferred yellow. For some reason I almost feel like every Jeep should be yellow.

I've never been a fan of any silver vehicle, never have, and never will. I guess God is trying to change my mind. The TJ is the 4th silver used vehicle we've purchased. All 4 were in the best condition available for the price. I will say silver may be the easiest color to handle regarding dirt or scratches.

Back in '01 used TJ's were still alot of money for a young guy. I really wanted a blue jeep with a 6cyl and manual, but the only used 6cyl TJ even remotely in my price range was dark purple with an auto. I've grown to love the color.

I was coming from a 2.5L YJ BASE MODEL so all I knew was I wanted 4.0L and a Dana 44 in the rear with a 5 speed. Turns out my bone stock one owner sienna pearl would grow to be my favorite. Only wish 18 y.o. me had waited and gotten a Rubicon lol

I've always wanted a Flame red rubicon. I ended up with a one painted a land rover green, in fact, this is my third green wrangler in a row. Might save up for a paint job one day.

I was really only concerned about the condition of the jeeps I was looking at when searching for mine.

Never gave color a second thought till I came across what would eventually become my TJ. I really disliked the green, but the condition, maintenance history and price were too good to pass.

After 2 years now, it's really grown on me. And I agree, they do look best when covered in dirt or mud!😎

I wanted white, silver or khaki alot. I specifically DID NOT want black. I've had to many black cars. And they are a pain to keep looking good. I also wanted 4.0, AT, fairly low miles and AC.

I looked hard for several months. And had a limited budget. Guess what I ended up with? Black. It was the only one in decent mechanical shape. But just needed cosmetics mostly. Had lower miles, AT, 4.0 and AC. It was also prewired for the hardtop and sprayer. And I was running out of time. I now wonder if I passed on any other black ones early on. Simply for color sake. But I don't think so. I kept a pretty open mind. It's a 20 year old car. You can't be too choosey.

Eventually I'll find my perfect Khaki Rubicon LJ. ;)

One thing to keep in mind is resale value. Yellow is a very low production number vehicle. Across the board. I think I read someplace recently that only like 3% or or so of cars are made in yellow. I guess you could look at that two ways. One it's rare. But two it's probably driven by buyers wants. And I don't think alot of people want yellow. Impact orange is also a low production number color. But it seems to be sought after by alot of Jeep buyers. It's a very popular color. Especially on here. I think your resale value will be a bit more with the impact orange than the yellow.

But don't sweat it. Better to buy a car for mechanical reasons than color.

I wasn't even looking for a TJ when my '98 Moss Green Pearl Sahara came into my life. The coolest part of that was that it was exactly what I would have looked for, had I been in the market. Always loved that color, with the contrasting tan (Spice?) hardtop. Could have done without the optional "Rust Package", however. ;) White would have been my second choice.

Not a fan of orange in general, but think it looks great on a TJ. When I purchased mine, I was looking specifically for a low mileage Rubicon from the South, but love the Patriot Blue.

Nice TJ! Your Amber Fire paint was only offered for a few years on the TJ. I don't see very many so I'm guessing it was a pretty low production number. Yellow was offered for many years on the TJ, JK, and now on the JL. So even though it wasn't your 1st choice you still scored a more unique color. For the record, I wanted Khaki but ended up with Black.
