I remember doing some "trail maintenance/building" down at Elbe years ago (circa 2000-'02) and it was no joke back then. I was running 3.5" sl and no body lift on 33 SSRs and there were parts of the trails then that I would have never made it through if there weren't for bypasses. Everything I have heard about all the changes made between then and now is if you're on 33s or smaller you're pretty much a spectator on many of the trails.

I've got the route on my OnX. I'm planning to do it sooner or later. You can download it at WASHINGTON – RockLander Route https://share.google/aGWGzbW3gtj8wvM68

I'm still not sure about trying to camp out of my Jeep.... Especially on a multi-day trip.

1) Cooler large enough to fit food and drinks...
2) Comfortable sleeping -tent that I can fit a cot into... not sleeping on the ground anymore.
3) Ability to carry all my gear

I would also like to do the route. I have it on OnX also

Let me get the Jeep more reliable and then do some work to my grandfathers trailer... Then I'd be up for this..

When you think this trail has sunk/been dug/eroded this much... I mean this is at least 6' down on the drivers side

I might need it for a passenger...

I'm pretty content with sandwiches and dehydrated meals for trips. Then just enough water for a couple days and load up again at stops. The way it's laid out you hit a town every so often and could grab food/drink items and of course fuel.

I've been eyeing hammocks for solo trips (as in no kid), not solo Jeeping, but also looking at backpacking tents because our current tent takes up too much space for the Jeep.

Once I can eat normal foods again... And yes that route really isn't that hard to restock on food stuff. I'm thinking about other trails where it's no restock for the whole trip...

Backpacking tents are out.. Well for what I want... Like I said I want the ability to use a cot. I need to be able to get my leg off & on and stand up..

I like those cot tents guys where using during ultimate adventure.

My only thing with them is that they don't fold up that small.

Yea, your requirements for sleep setup are a little different unfortunately.

Tent cots are out for me too because I have to run a back seat. We're tentatively thinking a Rubicon trip summer 2027 and I'm already visualizing sleeping gear and other soft items bungeed to the roof, spare tire, roll bar, and anywhere else I can get it! We might look like the Clampetts but have to fit three people inside.

Seems to me the best idea I've seen was some sort of rack that mounted to your cage and acts as a roof cover.

I kind of like it.... You could still run a Safari top but it'd carry a heck of a lot of gear...

And it comes off...

We'll see as it gets closer. I may go towards something like the first one, or smaller. I've actually watched that video before and it's a neat rack but wouldn't want something so "permanent." I'd like to keep my trektop on, but that's not an absolute requirement.
