Car pics too cool not to share

Couldn't speak to heating oil, but they should be taxing Tesla and other EV owners additionally

My state has done something to that effect. EVs pay an additional $180, and hybrid vehicles pay an additional $90, for annual registration to cover lost road tax typically collected through fuel sales. I know a bougie chick who traded her Jeep in for a Tesla last year "to save money on gas", now she's bitching about the extra charge. :LOL:

Edit; I just looked and the tax is $0.405 per gallon. I did the math and it looks like they based that price on an average of around 10,000 miles driven per year. So an EV exceeding that is "saving" money, all under it are paying a premium. Knowing who I typically see in Teslas around here, I doubt many are crossing that 10K mile line by much.

Next time you see/talk with said bougie chick, tell her this;
$180 is pittance compared to state and federal taxes on fuel.

She's not paying shit for taxes... She's basically paying the taxes on 306.64 gallons of gas in NC, I guess the real question is, how much is she adding to her electric bill to charge her Green Mobile...

(these are combined federal taxes and state taxes and fees)
Idaho is 57.4 cents per gallon for diesel, and 51.4 cents per gallon for gasoline...

WA is 82.8 cents per gallon for diesel, and 59.04 cents per gallon for gasoline

NC is 64.7 cents per gallon for diesel, and 58.7 cents per gallon for gasoline.

Yes I was a little bored!!!

I've watched a few of his videos after he first took the leap. I can't say putting that engine in that chassis is my thing, but it is funny.

A M -40 Dodge chassis was iffy with a smogged Thermoquad 440 , This is fun for a video , but brain dead to have 700 h.p. in something with drum brakes and a I-beam front axle. :LOL:

We'll just agree to disagree. At least on the solid front axle part.

:unsure:.... Naaaahhh... I'm thinking I'd have to stick with the turbine engine thank you very much.

  • Power Output: 1,500 shaft horsepower and significant torque, with peak torque of nearly 4,000 ft-lb at 1,000 RPM.

If you want to stay slow that's an option, but drones are moving fast nowadays. We need immediate throttle action, not slow spool up. ;)

I would dearly love to see an LS that can propel a 27 ton tank off the line and down range faster than that gas turbine...
Ain't happening, period full stop!!!
