I finally got around to cycling the front suspension for clearance and bump stops. Should the bump stops be somewhat centered at full bump? Also Currie trac bar hits Currie diff cover before driver side gets all the way up. I pulled the axle back as far as I could but still making contact. Now what?

Pictures would help us understand where you're at.

Centered yes or making sufficient contact to actually be bump stops.

Making contact with what?

Did you add spacers to the bump stops?

Is full bump full shock compression?

You can bend the track bar in a press for more clearance. You can also remove the frame side track bar mount and move it forward. @jjvw did both in his build thread if I'm not mistaken.

The clearance is tight with a stock 44.the currie axle must be larger

I did both for the purposes of stretching the front as far forward as the steering gear allows. I also moved the upper spring seats forward on the frame to re-center the bump stops.

I’ll try to get some pics tomorrow. The trac bar itself is making contact with the diff cover before I can get to full bump on the driver side. I can get to full bump on the passenger side at least to the shocks rubber stopper.

Is full bump full shock compression?

Yes but it bottoms out on the shock rubber stopper on passenger side. Once the trac bar hits the diff cover it starts raising the jeep not just the axel and I’m about 3 inch’s from being bottomed out on the driver side.

Bending might be an option but I’m not ready to cut the mount off yet.

Here is some pics hope this help. This is my passenger side up you can see shock bottomed out. I have Currie bump stops from my last setup. I may or may not need to add to it but until I can get both side all the way up I’m not sure.

Here is passenger side and trac bar interference.

How much forward stretch did you get ?

How about some wider perspective shots...maybe from the front so we can understand what the track bar is doing.

My first guy impression is those are the wrong shocks but I want to see more before I offer an opinion.

Well quick update. After another round of cycling and inspection I found the upper control arm hitting the upper control arm mount that was supposed to get cut off. Don’t get me started on the shop I had do the work. Yes I know I should have done it myself. That’s another story. I’m going to work on getting this mount out of the way. The trac bar will still hit but maybe I get a little more up when this mount is cut off.

I’ll get those pics for you soon. The shocks are rock krawlers RRD 2.25 that came with the kit. I actually like them a lot. Very smooth when it drives.

I got the bracket cut off and driver side goes up and gets about 1/2 inch from making contact with the shock rubber stopper. But I am now hitting the zerk fitting against the spring perch on the trac bar. I centered the axel previously and if I pull it over and more to clear that zerk the bumps won’t line up. I always thought the placement of the Zirk fitting on my track bar never made sense. It sticks out toward the spring and everyone else I know with one it sits more towards the front.
