Looks like July 26th works best for most.

I’ve not ridden it, but reviews call it Moderate - so I’m assuming some decent fun, but everyone drives home.

Details to be finalized:
Meeting TBD
Ride start 9:30 to account for those not in N.GA
tagging @RangerTJ for Brasstown Bald View & Dinner Option

Open to other ideas.

Feel free to tag anyone.

It's Bell Mountain, and it's quite close to the Deer Lodge restaurant, but Deer Lodge may now be suspect.

Deer Lodge Reviews

Initially we planned to go to the Deer Lodge dining room but it appears to have been sold in late 2024 and the new owners apparently have managed to ruin it.

So maybe do more research on Deer Lodge or consider something else in Hiawassee since Bell Mountain is in Hiawassee.

@tr21triton knows Hiawassee well so he may have some ideas.

Don't know much about Hiawassee. More blue ridge and blairsville for me.

@Beersy77 are you going to join us and show off that new RUBI ?

I am hopeful to pull it off but my oldest graduates high school Friday and my middle daughter gets to do summer school. Right now that week looks like the only week available for us to do family vacation for the summer.

I’ll let you know. If I don’t, I want a rain check and still want to buy dinner

Anyone been to Beasley? Can it be fun without rocks/damage? Videos I’ve seen look pretty rough…

getting the date is the hardest part. I’ll prob have the kid so I’m open to other trial options.

Charlie’s creek, horseshoe ridge are other options in the same general area.

I've been once, went with a group of 4 that dwindled down to a group of 2, it was the only time I have ever pulled winch line to help someone out. Granted we went when it was slightly muddy. A buddy that has a 1inch lifted TJ sport was unable to do much there, a stock JL sport was unable to do much, my parents 2.5" lifted JL sport struggled but had decent tires and mostly kept up with me until their tires were mud slicked. My 06 Rubicon did fine, although I was certainly nervous in some spots. I think that if it is dry and we asses our capabilities accurately we should be okay there, It is tight in some spots and you do need to watch out for the SXS crowd that flies through there. It is definitely a fun time though. pics related from our trip there in oct '23.

I forgot to include in my response, there is a $5 cover charge that helps keep the place clean and maintains the trails, all trail maintenance is done by the GA bounty runners 4x4 club which is local to the area. Passes can be purchased here: https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/7dd5ac3c-77b5-11eb-86df-e60b5d20d0e4

Unfortunately it looks as if the USDA no longer has a download for the interactive map, but if you have OnX you can see the list of trails available, IIRC 93b is a Jeep badge of honor trails and is pretty tough (I want to say Bleepinjeep flipped a Cherokee there a few years ago but could be completely wrong). 93a is rated as easy, with the other trails aside from 93b being rated as moderate 6-7/10 range. When we went I think we did 93a and 93c.
