Wondering if the internal frame for the half door glass slider upper is compatible with the vinyl zip up window. I know the glass slider has tabs welded on it but I can cut them off if it's compatible otherwise. Sliders are in bad shape and I have a set of zipper window uppers that came with the top a few years ago.

What internal frame are you talking about?? There is the door surrounds that are plastic that seal for either the soft uppers or slider uppers.

What are these tabs you're talking about??

Here's my TJ with soft uppers installed.

Talking about the internal window frame. I am hoping I can take the frame from inside the slider window and put my soft vinyl window skins on it.

Yeah it was time more than money. If I could swap them out with just cutting the tabs off then I could do it before I needed to drive it again but if I took them apart and it wouldn't work I'd be without a window before I could get the frame in the mail. Looks like it would work but I wouldn't know until it was too late to go back.

I would say NO to your soft vinyl windows fitting but I have some slider windows that look like this.

I'm guessing you have windows like these?

But I'd still guess NO. You'd be better off to just get the soft upper frames IMO.

Mine are like the blue jeep example. I like the ones on the red jeep. My time crunch is gone now so I can order frames now. My sliders are in too bad a shape to worry about saving so I was gonna use the frame if I could.

There's good & bad to both designs IMO... I've got to get my sliders mounted up and see how I like them for winter driving.

Hey, Crystal@Bestop here, the frame of your Upper Door Slider is different from the upper door frame that the soft uppers use unfortunately. I would recommend going with a whole new upper door with the skin sewn around it, Bestop part number 51790. I hope that helps!

My sliders are falling out of the plastic rails... getting to the point I'm afraid one of the glass panels might fall out while bumping around.

I have a love/hate relationship with my sliders and a collection of parts because @Crystal@Bestop for what these cost, it’s pretty lame you won’t offer or even sell spare parts like the latches or the rubber runners the windows slide in.

Back on topic, the glass is mostly held in by the “non removable” plastic frames, with the inside being the male side. I’ve had success in the past, pulling the inside frame out, filling the tab holes with epoxy, reinstalling and replacing the outside screws with slightly longer ones.

OR

wait for an Amazon used set to become available, I finally replaced mine for a “used” for $350.

I'm going another route...found a couple of fiberglass half door tops probably from Bulldog. Passenger side is perfect and the driver side needs glass work.

Hey there - Customer Service sells the latches, they come in a kit - per door, it includes 2 latches, the low profile screw and tool, the "rubber runners" last I was aware, is not sold separately because of how difficult it can be putting the sliders back together unfortunately. I'm sorry you had to purchase "new" ones but I'm glad you found a good used set!

Awesome, this must be a new change, but great to hear

How I fixed mine after the left window fell out snow wheeling the other day... I might just order that kit! Got a link or do we need to call?

You can call CS to order, the part number is 337.00P, if you're wanting to replace the latches on both doors, you'll order quantity 2 of that part number! 800.845.3567, option 1, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, MT.

WoW those are awesome!!!!! They look so much more stable than my fabric slider. Where do you get those??

Mine were given to me by a friend. But you can find them on marketplace or on forums sometimes.

I don't know if BesTop still sells new versions of them.
