Utah Moab in May 2025

Looking at the responses it seems like @jjvw @rasband and @tworley are going to be their own group for the week except for pritchett tbh

I get in mid-monday and will join Hells if I am there in time. I put Moab Rim for weds, Pritchett for thurs. Tuesday is a bit up in the air, as I am not wanting to do the trifecta twice (but may end up doing that), and leave mid-late Friday.

How many people is too many in a group

Depends on the trail. The key to speeding it up is to not have the first jeep need to wait on the last jeep to do an obstacle. We can see how it goes and adjust once we get an idea of who everyone is and their comfort experience levels.

We took 13 jeeps on the Trifecta year one, it can be done it's one way no tight passing needed a few obstacles that need spotting but most don't.

Then you have Pritchett where knowing the line and spotting is key but groups should stay smaller and keep moving.

I completed the form with some options for me. I'm also wheelin' with my Neighbor Thomas (whom many have met), who is in a nice locked 2dr JK on 37s. So, everything I checked is for 2 rigs.

I am still figuring out my schedule, as I may wheel a day or two with a couple other buddies who will also be out there.

Trevor - it would be nice to see a tentative schedule of who is doing what when. There are a few in the group I'd like to get to wheel with at some point, and I think it would help us all figure schedules.

Looking forward to it, Brothers.

@lBasket will need to see your ignore list first

Did Thomas get his V8 in?

No, that's next. He's done a bunch of other work though. It's a sweet little Jeep.

Thomas ran Boston on Monday. 3:30. He is running the Nashville Marathon on Saturday. He is either going to be in the best shape of all of us - or dead tired!

What a machine! I like to run but 3-5 miles is more like it for me.

I am not going to make it.
I was a solid maybe up until this week, but there are only so many days in a year.
Deb and I have a very full calendar this summer so we going to take some days off and go sit on a beach.
Next year I will be retired and will be in for sure.
You guys have fun and be smart.

Well dang Milt, that's too bad you and Deb won't be able to make it! We'll hopefully see y'all next March. Congratulations on your A/C and lighting upgrade in the garage it'll make a big difference, I've already read your other posts. Have a great time at the beach!

A little info for those who will be making their first trip to Moab, and a reminder for those who have been before...

To enter the Sand Flats Recreation Area (this is where Fins & Things and Hell's Revenge trails are located) there is a $10 fee per vehicle required which gets you a 7 day (consecutive) pass. This can be purchased online or at the entrance gate.

There is a $5 per vehicle fee (cash only) to run Pritchett Canyon trail. This is paid at the trail head with an honor system drop box.

There are no fees for any of the other trails that we will be running.

No fee however you need to get a permit online if you want to run Elephant Hill. Be sure to download it to your phone as there's no cell service there... and they do check! (I've been checked at the start of the trail as well as out on the trail)

Good catch, I forgot that a few guys might be doing Elephant Hill. When I did it a few years ago, the permit was free, but the recreation.gov site charged $1 to reserve the free permit.

So do you not need a parks pass for Elephant Hill? Even though it's in the park? I know you need the permit. Still not decided what I'm doing - I'm torn on how to spend my time, will probably be tempted to do some climbing after at Indian Creek. Anyone on the forum into crack climbing?

I had a parks pass when we did Elephant hill but I don't recall anyone ever asking to see it.
