New Tool Day

I always had that problem with my conventional grease guns and kept them in 5 gallon pails, too. With the Milwaukees, I don't see the leakage - I have them hanging from the girts of my shop. LockNLube has rubber caps for the coupler that prevent spillage. They also make a barrel cap that helps a bit. I still had a mess with those, though, and they do harden/crack after about a year or two and need to be replaced. I'm only using the coupler caps with the Milwaukees and no mess through two Texas summers now.

Same have a locknlube on my Milwaukee and it hasn't leaked.

Man, the thought of my grease gun not always making a giant mess is enough to make me consider that Milwaukee

I have a lucas pistol grip grease gun. It sure seeps around the bottom. Might be time to replace it:unsure:

I use an Alemite and it does not leak. It was recommended to me by @Blackjack. I added a Lock-N-Lube.
My 1990's vintage Alemite started to cause me problems. I bought a replacement at my local Fastenal store for $36. Unfortunately, Fastenal stopped selling retail.

Not exactly true. You can still buy from them, but you have to either call to place an order or buy online. They converted their retail stores to fulfillment locations. Unless something's changed very recently, you can go pick stuff up at the local branch, but only after you place an order. It's a little cumbersome, but you can still do buy from them. I've even just driven over and asked for assistance in person. They were a little miffed, but did it.

LockNLube is proud of their stuff but it works. Have one on my Milwaukee grease gun and the LockNFlate on my Milwaukee tire inflator. I need more locknflates.
I have LockNLube swivels and couplers on all four of my Milwaukee guns. They make good stuff! I haven't tried the LockNFlates, though. I don't have a problem with any of the air chucks I have. Grease couplers is another story altogether, though.

Thanks for the clarification. I had a Fastenal store about 3 miles from my house. At first there was a sign on the door, effectively saying no retail, and a few months later they closed completely.

I have a tough time with the ball joints on my Superduty due to clearance. They were originally sealed but when I replaced them I went with greaseable. At first I just put the plug in, then when it was time to grease I'd remove the plug, turn the shaft just right to clear the u joint and put in an angled zerk, grease away then remove the angled zerk and put the plug back. Then I bought some really short straight zerks that could stay in all the time and a slide on coupler https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SR6XO/?tag=wranglerorg-20 which works but still a pain and messy. Maybe I just need a higher quality one.

Same thing here. During COVID is when they made the change from retail stores to fulfillment centers. At the same time, they closed hundreds of locations. Like you, I had one about two miles from my office that was closed, and now I have to drive about 25 miles to the nearest one. They are publicly traded on NASDAQ, and they were reacting to the COVID-created supply chain issues in order to keep the stockholders happy. It worked, but at the expense of convenience to their local customers. Honestly, I think they've always done the majority of their sales to industrial customers who never set foot in a store, so it does make sense...

Similar experience here. Our local Fastenal went 'order ahead online' during 2020-2021 pandemic and never went back.

They're still open but I don't even consider them an option anymore. I can order my hardware through Bolt Depot (my fav) or other retailers...

I am upgrading the Lincoln 1134 pistol grip grease gun I've had for 10 years. Upgraded to this after the cheapies at the local stores kept leaking.

The Lincoln has been really solid in not leaking. I built a PVC tube with capped end mounted to the wall to store it. Comes out clean after each use.

I just added the LockNLube to the Lincoln but haven't used it yet. Will likely move it over to the M12.

Curious to see how this M12 option makes to the job any easier.
