Sitting in Afganistan, I was given a two month notice I was moving to Alaska when we get back to NC.

I knew they didn't like guns,

I don't know they also didn't like high capacity magazines.

So when the border agent asked me if I had any military issued magizines and my answer was "probably not"

Well that went about as well as a silent fart after a dinner of taco bell.

How certain are you that you've got no ammo mags? I don't about 80 % -85%

SIR, You crossed an international border, It is a $10,000 US dollar fine for every magizine we find.

This is with a 22' V nose trailer loaded front to back with house hold items. Mostly garage.

Sir, I'm going to need you to pull into that inspection building

About 15 years ago a BIL of mine was up near the border visiting his friends grandparents.

The BIL was maybe 18 if that.

The grandpa had just bought a new truck.

The boys decided to go to Canada so they could say they had been there and took the new truck.

The Canadians didn't understand why these kids had that expensive truck and decided to essentially disassemble the interior to see what they could find.

Sounded like Grandpa wasn't happy when he found out.

about 20 years ago I went to cross into Canada through Niagara Falls ( I lived in Rochester NY --and I have a NYS CCW Permit ) when I got to the border, the douche bag border guy was asking me all kinds of questions about ALL MY GUNS? I told him SEVERAL times, "I Like Canada, but I don't want to stay here for the next 5 years" the questioning got so bad I finally said "look, if you think Im stupid enough to bring a firearm into your country, I'll just pull over and you can search the damn car" which he replied "that won't be necessary, have a nice day" My wife thought we were going to jail, because I started getting pissed. LOL That was the last time I went to Canada

About 15 years ago, my wife and crossed over to Canada at Niagra Falls.

Do you own any guns? Yes.
Do you have any with you? No.
Why not? Because that would be illegal.
Pull over there and get out of your car.

They search our car, luggage, and even looked in the air cleaner housing under the hood.

We moved from Michigan to Alaska back in about '83. We had more guns and ammo with us than most militias. We had a written list & the Canadian officials didn't give two squats.

True story - my very first engineering job, I was the lead engineer in charge of the mechanical design of the components to add wings onto the very first winged feminine pad by Kotex! At 400 times per minute. I was proud of the accomplishment, but at the same time, I was too embarrassed to boast about it!
