What did you do to your TJ today?

I got annoyed trying to get to some hard to reach exhaust bolts on my Ram and went out and angrily splurged on a plasma cutter a couple years ago.

I use it all the time now, quickly became my favorite tool. That post-purchase guilt of spending so much money to cut a couple bolts went away real quick lol

I'm pretty sure the next thing that I need to do to my Jeep is a Thermocure flush.

BTW, this is a new to me Jeep that has been in my possession for only a week.

Flush for sure! That's a lot of stop leak. I'd run several cycles of water thru it before you get out the chemicals.
Put the garden hose on your heater core too.

X2. I would have run away screaming - this is likely the level of maintenance the entire vehicle received. If I don't like what I see when I raise the radiator cap, I don't bother looking further.

I have a higher appetite for destruction than most, but that looks especially bad. Like somebody dumped modeling clay in there or something.

First practice run on my prime day DA Polisher. Too damm hot to do more + I’m nervous about making what is pretty good paint worse.

Still fighting the battle of the suspension. This morning it was the left rear lower control arm. The axle end bolt took an hour or so to get out, then it was trying to pry the arm out of the brackets as the rubbers were all swollen up and stuck to them. Tomorrow morning it's going to be clean out the rust and rubber from inside the brackets, put the new arm in and then start on the other side. I did soak the heck out of the bolts with PB Blaster before I called a day, so maybe they won't be as much of a problem.

Once the suspension is done, it's going to be put new seals in the steering gearbox, then replace the muffle and tailpipe. All this stuff that I've put off for the past couple of years.

Went to start on the passenger side rear control arms this morning. The bolts on that side look to be in better shape than the driver's side did. But, the muffler is going to have to come off to get the upper frame bolt out. And as rusted out as it and the tailpipe are, it looks like I'm going to be replacing the muffler a little ahead of what I'd planned.

So the mid arm bracket goes right where the rearmost transfercase nutsert goes. I was going to trim both, and started to, but... I didn't like the idea of cutting the control arm bracket. So I ground the nutserts smooth and burned the brackets on. I'll trim the skid forward to clear and add another nutsert. I think the skid is strong enough to take that modifcation ok.

I learned that these are not the same. Ignore the gauge, I wasn't aware 18 for gas and 20 is flux. I figured the flux would have been labeled flux somewhere. Another amateur mistake.

Modified some brackets and slopped them together for mounting the spare carrier in the tub. Moving it back an inch to use up the space that was once occupied by a 37. Good thing they don't have to be pretty
